So I have been ripping my hair out trying to figure out why my fwd seemingly lost "that lovin' feeling." I go online, searching the web for anything that may be useful. Then I come across some East Coast club archive thread that talks about base timing and how it can affect, well, everything. So I head out to Slo-Pny and check the timing. I get confused about the indicated results, so I go snag Marcus for a second opinion. Bottom line: with the adjustment plug grounded to take the ecu out of the equation, timing is supposed to be at 5* BTDC. I was at 3* ATDC!! So the timing was retarded 8* across the board! Problem fixed, timing reset to proper setting, the car is quite simply a different animal. The east coast boys said that when their car was off 5*, it was a 20+ hp difference. I believe it. Thanx Marcus for the help, and thanx Lawrence for providing traction ballast on the maiden voyage!!
