258whp and 270lb/ft all stock. Free mods = 280whp and 287lb/ft Overall I'm very impressed with the car so far and it seems to have great potential. BTW that works out to be around 290hp at the crank for a factory stock one, looks like they underrated it a little. Martin // I got this off the Chicago DSM Yahoo-groups list (Post titled EVO VIII Dyno #'s). Martin is co-owner of AMS ( www.automotosports.com ) in Chicago. I'm not quite sure what free-mods entail on the EVO's. Maybe they have some restrictions in the intake that can be removed and possibly a BCS restrictor, both similar to a stock DSM. I asked him about it on the list and am awating a reply. Anyway it sounds like the EVO owners won't have to spend any money to reach or even surpass the same power levels as the STI considering the 290 hp at the crank corresponds to the 258 at the wheels taking AWD drivetrain loss into consideration. |
