Alright FWD guys that have done cat back mods, I'm needing some questions answered please. I'm getting ready to put in my full 3" exhaust right now but the back is really tight.
I've never seen the catback exhaust for a FWD eclipse, but mine in my galant is terrible. Everything is fine until it gets to the back axle. The space the 3" would have to fit through is like exactly 3". The guys at RRE said a lot of people end up running it under the axle, but I'm not thinking there is room. So my questions are: Is the catback that bad on an eclipse? How do you have yours run(under or over)? -------------------- GVR4 866/1000 = the perpetually broken car

My old FWD ran the 3" above the axle. I remember it being a very tight fit, but it fit after some convincing.

Did you have any issues with rattles?

No rattles, but the muffler tip would occasionally audibly bump against the rear bumper cover on rough roads. No big deal though.

Thanks guys. I think I'll just have em build it and stop worrying. Anything has to be better than what I have in there now.
