Well, we have access to neither here in Champaign so I'm at a loss for good information here.
My understanding is TurboBlue is 100 octane? Cam2 I haven't heard of actually out here in the boonies. Or some more in depth info that what little I know currently of either. Any advice between one of the other on the goodstuff you guys have such easy access to there? (oh and yes that's a note of jealousy you detect) -------------------- |

I use 100 octane turbo-blue in the Talon. Works great. Damn expensive though. Usually between $3.50 to $4.00 a gallon.

I would kill for $3.50 to $4.00 a gallon. Last year we ended up just buying 55 gallon drum, which made the price a little more tolerable.

I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for, but there's a place here in Springfield that sells 55 gallon drums of race gas. I don't know any of the specifics (i.e. octane, price, brand, etc.) though.

We have 100 octane here in town. But, you can't put gas directly into the car unless its on a trailer, or put it into a seperate container. kinda gay IMO.

They always let me pump 100 turbo-blue directly into my car. But its unleaded. |

Yea, but you're running what 110, 112 octane leaded gas, right? Fast beast =expensive food! ![]() Never tried race gas... I've been tempted with the 100 octane at the fast stop across from ICC though... I think that's what Nate's refering to. -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....

I could possibly getaway with 110 or 112 but when you're pushing 35psi it doesn't hurt to have a little insurance. 118 anybody?

I tried running 116 once and my car wouldn't have it. It stuttered and bogged down the entire strip. Might have been from the bottom of the barrel though.
They quite selling 100 oct at the FS by ICC. I talked to them about it and said there was some kind of law in Indiana that made it illegal to transport the stuff so they couldn't get it in stock from their dealer out east. Sounded like a load of BS to me, but whatever. I have to go to the Phillips 66 in Bartonville near the airport now for the 100 oct. |

JUST A SIDE NOTE: If you are running a catylitic converter on your car do NOT use turbo blue. It will plug up your cat faster than anything. Now if you decide to cut your cat for this reason or just for "performance" reasons, please note that the 1G's do not have problems with this but I know for sure the 2G NT's do and I'm not sure if the turbo 2G does or not. The reasoning for this is the O2 sensor behind the cat. If you cut the cat on a car with a second O2 sensor that sensor will not read right and will automatically richen your fuel mixture because of the built in SAFE mode and your check engine light will come on. Best way to eliminate that is to get an O2 simulator. Just in case any of you didn't already know that.
PS: GOOOOO on the 35psi, that is very cool! ![]() -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"

The Turbo Blue they sell now is 100 octane, unleaded. It will not harm your cat, or your O2 sensor.
