So this saturday a bunch of us C-U guys went over to Morroco, Indiana US 41 Dragway and made some runs. Out of 9 runs my best quarter was 14.066 and 60ft was 1.85, on a half tank of gas. This was my first time ever running at a strip. I still have the shitty T-25 in place so I was pretty damn happy with my times. Breaking into the 13's was deffinitly an attainable goal, but I was happy with my times.
A friend of mine with a stock 92 GST (ACT2100 and boost controller set at 16) ran 14.3, Here's a link to the larger thread on CII: http://www.centralillinoisimports.org/foru...ead.php?t=13185 On another note, I have been meaning to change my oil over to synthetic, I've heard a lot of people suggestions on how to switch over and what to run, anyone have any helpful opinions? I'd like to get it done within a week or so. -------------------- 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX

Those are decent times for a gst on the t-25. Good job!
![]() I run Mobil 1 synthetic in my cars. No complaints. 15W50 in the Talon (rebuilt engine) and 10W30 in the Evo. |

Not that I know of. Only precaution I ever take before using synth oil is after rebuilding my engine I break it in with dino oil and only run the synth after its broke in. Its been pretty well proven on the evolutionm.com forums that breaking the 4g63 in on the mobil 1 synth factory fill is a bad idea. The guys who drain the synth and break it in on dino oil have consistently made more horsepower in stock trim.

The problem with switching to synthetic is that it can break lose deposits left by dino oil. This is a good thing, but you don't want to be driving around with globs of gunk in your oil for a long time. I always recommend a good engine flush before changing to synthetic. Personally, for my flush I dump in a quart of ATF and let it idle at 2k for 10 minutes or so right before a change. In goes the synthetic and out goes all the crap.

QUOTE Very helpful, is ATF a transmission treatment? ATF as in just off the shelf automatic transmition fluid. Its full of detergents. Put it in your oil and it'll polish everything clean. Put it in your gas and it cleans you injectors and lubricates the top end. Its a beautiful thing ![]() -------------------- GVR4 866/1000 = the perpetually broken car

Damn, I didn't know anybody was heading up to 41 this weekend. I go to Purdue and live about an hour away from the track. Good numbers, people always seem to run better at 41. There are several comparisons between it and Indy Race Park(IRP) where people at 41 actually run about .2~.3 seconds faster. I'm not sure if it's the different track prep or what, I just know that they do a hell of a job up in Morroco. I should be heading up there in the next few weeks once I get my car running again but I'll start another thread for that.
