Well, was driving back into work today to check on a couple of things when a lady in an Intrepid decided to make a left turn right into my driver's side door and rear quarter panel. Car still drives fine, but damage to the lower rear quarter panel and unibody will probably total it.

damn man, glad you're okay though. I hope you get paid big time for all those permanent and incapacitating injuries sustained in the crash (you will think of some, I'm sure).

damn, sorry to hear that eric.. glad your okay.... So, question... does your 'leaky stubborn bitch' leak more now or before? It's my understanding that your car is 'opposite' car, and maybe a big intrepid hammer might have fixed it for you.. Good thing you didn't tackle your leak last night man.. once again. sorry.

Not sure if its going to be totalled or not, we'll see I guess. From a distance you can't even really tell it was hit, then as you get close you notice the zip ties holding various parts of body cladding on
The caged roller might be more 90 than I can handle I'd take pics if I had a digital camera. The most fun part was hitting the giant lava rock(maybe a 2x2x2 footer), which apparently did nothing more than scratch my front bumper a little bit. Guess those heavy bumpers are worth something afterall. -------------------- Eric Wort

I don't think it hurt the intrepid much. All that happened to the Intrepid was the front bumper cover got lots of my black paint all over it and cracked in a couple of places.
The more I think about it, I might just try out my metal working skills and reshape that whole part of the body, or slice out a whole section of Travis's black parts car and weld it in. -------------------- Eric Wort

Saw the car tonite. Poor 6bolt 4bolt combo is hurtin' a bit now
Car runs and drives. Doesn't look all 'that' bad at first. Then you get close up and notice the damage to multiple body panels, and the cracks in the unibody. I didn't have the camera out at the shop tonite with me but I'll try to get some pics (if it's ok with Eric) up tomorrow or so. This is a sad day for the Champaign DSMafia. Our little chapter has taken quite a hit (literally and figuratively). -------------------- |

Hope the other person didnt have progressive, they will take off value for any and all prior damage, even if they total the car. (I know, my fiancee is a claims rep. for them).

The other person has the same insurance company as I do, State Farm, so its both good and bad. And it didn't have zipties holding the bodywork on before the accident, I had to put those on there to keep the cladding from dragging on the ground.
Heck, I just purchased a replacement driver's side door a month or two ago, as mine was starting to rust. Thanks for the offer Chris, but I only need one tool for the job, a sawzall -------------------- Eric Wort
