Gripping tales, once again. Always a fan. Did a bit of playing myself this weekend. Ran around with about 6 bagged minitrucks (one LT1 swap...mean lil truck), but the fun part was the cars. STI, B18c1 Civic hatch on 100 shot of the giggles, Civic Si (not fast, but a sharp show car), and a 350Z. N2O Civic had low bottle pressure, so we never figured out who was quicker. Pulled consistently on the stock 350Z. The most fun was had in a 145mph run chasing said STI. I was amazed at how badly I did not lose. Do not misread, I DID LOSE, but from 40-140, he put about 7-8 cars on me. I was proud of the FWD, in all of its stock DP, no-mods-but-the-free-ones glory. Truly a great night, save for the speeding ticket as a nightcap. I live to play another day.

Good kill story. I like the one about the Caddy. Those V-specs look to be pretty fun. Nothing like a luxury sedan with a high performance v8 rumbling under the hood.

enjoyable tales... I'm still waiting for my day to come. I had a shot at a new vet this weekend, to bad I blew an IC pipe before the race. Count yourself lucky spy.

Very nice guys. I too found the caddy portion of the story to be the most intense.

Although my car is only on the mend I was able to scrounge up a little race action, but nothing worthy of it's own thread, so I will share here.

Seems that all the commercials have made the 'HEMI' Dodge truck a marked name. As I headed North an evening or two ago, I passed a semi-popular hang out spot. Nothing noteworthy there but I did catch a glimps of some kids pulling out in a pick-up loaded with a four wheeler. Strange to see in town I thought, but nothing more.

Miles and a few stop lights later I notice a pair of head lights gaining on me in the other lane at a rate of 30MPH above my own moderate speed. At first I blew it off as a some one with a constant heavy foot and total disregard for anything. As the vehicle passed I recognized the Chevy two wheel drive truck loaded with a 4-wheeler in the back. This time I got to hear the beautifull sound of his obviously upgraded exhaust. About 8-10 cars ahead he got backed up in traffic. I... feeling rather confident by all the commercial reassurance of my borrowed steed, I decided to see if our friend was willing to play. A blip on the throttle and the thundering Hemi came to life making the 6000 lb. hulk of a 4x4 truck into a projectile.

In a matter of seconds I was side by side with the black Chevy. Our faces met through the murky deapth of glass and night combined. A few throttle blips were passed back and forth and we slowed to let any traffic releave it's self. The patience between us made everything obvious and I switched off the OD to minimize down shifts. The Chevy began to growl with life and I planted the throttle on the back of the HEMI's firewall. To my delight the HEMI out accelerated the loaded Chevy and put 2-3 cars on him before we had to resume normal driving. I pulled over into the slow lane decellerated accordingly, feeling confident and let the Chevy boy fly by.

It would seem as though this was the end but my opponent signaled to the off ramp I was predetermined to take....hhe he he. I was on his bumper like stink on $h!+. He was pulling one of those panzi driving-on-the-inner-shoulder manuvers to get around the corner faster. I stayed in the lane correctly egging him on as I lunged the HEMI on his back door numerous times. The time to produce came as we unwound out of the ramp and the Chevy made his wide move around the driver ahead and back into the slow lane. As oon as I heard his exhaust scream I unloaded the fuel to the big V8 once again and shifted to the fast lane. I started out about 1.5 cars behind and began to pull. Suprisingly I was not pulling very hard though...I ran that thing out as hard as it would go and after an increase of about 40MPH I finally caught his rear bumper. He lit up the brake lights to take the win before an imminent loss. I rolled up next to the Chevy to share a glance as the other driver gave the peace/victory sign and we parted. Wow! That Chevy had a 400 pound pay load and nearly ran away from me!!! AWSOME.

Sure it was a race between two lumbering trucks...but it got my blood pumping none the less!
