got it in tonight.....after alot of sweat and knuckle busting....but it does nothing but grind when you try to put it in first....it will go in all the other gears.....and when you slam it in first, it starts grabbin and moving forward no more than a centimeter off the floor.....do i need to bleed it better or get a longer slave cylinder push rod? and the tranny moves a little when you depress the clutch....any opinions?

Sounds like you forgot some trans to engine bolts, there should be four total. The trans should NOT move when you push the clutch.

i replaced the slave cylinder....but how can you actually tell that its bad...and how long do i need to bleed it for....because a friend told me that on his buddy's mustang they had to go throogh about 2 big bottles of brake fluid before it was bled correctly....

if the slave cylinder is bad there would be fluid coming out of the piston area. and it shouldnt take that long to bleed. I don't know about a completely empty one tho. I used half a small bottle on mine but it wasnt empty. Besides, its not that expensive.
