Up for sale is my 93 talon ES...
2.0L Non turbo
124,033 miles
New tires (i drove it less than 50 miles before the trans went out) on tsi awd "turbine" rims
was an automatic, but that went out and i have given up on fixing it, so you can either replace it, or do a 5-sp swap, or i might possibly part it out if nobody wants it as a whole...
i went to chicago and got another trans and torque converter out of a wrecked car and put that in, but still does nothing. it does not pump fluid. the original trans ran fine, it was rebuilt by the previous owner. i drove it around for awhile after i got my license and then 4 days later i took a turn, gave it some gas and it acted just as it was in neutral. the transmission was smoking and dripping fluid. i towed it home after that.
i'll include the two transmissions and two torque converters i have if u want, im pretty sure the pump is what is bad in the one thats in the car now, so you might be able to take the one out of the old trans and put it in the new one...
the body is in decent shape, there is a large dent in the drivers rear quarter panel where the previous owner backed his truck into it, then tried to hammer it back out. and then just various little dents here and there. the paint is peeling in one spot, about 3" around or so.
the interior is pretty good, no rips or anything

if u want to see it, it is currently sitting at b&m transmission

any other questions just let me know on here or you can call me at (309)241-1252

I stopped and looked at it, truely a sharp car. Not a bad price, but you would need to find a buyer looking for a fwd automatic nonturbo.

It is my favorite of any dsm i have seen, look wise. i like that red on the talons with thoes rims, but i know not many are going to be interested in a non turbo, automatic that doesnt move. i really wish i was a little more 'car smart' when i bought that. i knew nothing and its so amazing to me that ive learned so much the past year. even with all the um...issues dsms have, and have given me, i would still buy a turbo 5 sp any day. i wouldnt mind fixing the car a driving it again, but ive already tried another trans and that didnt work and so i kind of just gave up... so who knows, if somebody would have something to do with it and want to buy it, great, otherwise i think im just out that money.

stopped and looked at it today and the guy said it would cost $1500 to fix and right now $2300 for a non turbo auto is not in my budget.

$1500?? I bought the car for $1100 and it ran then too...

I was told $500 plus labor for a new front pump, which didnt guarantee to fix it, or $750 for a new trans from a junkyard + labor. I'm sure a trans can be found for much less than that and I'm getting pretty good at takin transmissions out of that car huh.gif

I bought the laser i have for 600 with a bad tranny on ebay. You should try to sell it on there.

My rebuilt tranny cost me 2 grand about 2 years ago.

if i were to change transmissions again...i have read about differences in the splines among the years, but i have no idea when the change was, or if its for autos. does anybody know what year trans' will go into my car keeping the stock axles? also is a fwd turbo trans a direct bolt on?

I think a turbo trans will bolt on, cause the block of a 2.0 n/t and turbo model are the same, so the bolt pattern will be the same also. Im not sure about the flex plate, but i would "assume" they are the same also.

im sure it will bolt up, i didnt know if the electrical connectors are the same and if the tcu is the same. but what i really need to know is what ones have the same axles as mine.
