Gratned this last year was in an EVO, but the previous year was in my own Talon. Even though it doesn't really matter on the street, you may have still lost to DSM power with times corrected for the classes. fwiw, the 1st auto-x school i had a 96 flywheel hp sohc weakling engine in the car. the 2nd auto-x school i was racing on no-brand tires. come again and see how you fair against the r-compound-prepped-ass-kicker. |

IMO, in regards to the auto-x, I think it would be hella cool to see Marcus and Benny run in (I forgot what it's called) one of those races that starts like a drag and turns into identical short auto-x courses. I think, no offense Benny, Marcus may have a slight advantage in the holeshot, though. Either way, if Marcus threw on some gumballs, you'd have your hands full. I suck at auto-x. Give me 10 seconds and 2 cones and I'll mop you up. On the other hand, give me some stickies and a tight course, and my hatch may do fairly well...

Ben, you don't even want to know the shape my tires were in on the Talon. And the second event was the first day I had ever driven an EVO competatively or even for more than 10 minutes prior to that event.
BTW - Thanks for the vote of confidence James. The averaging style race you speak of is really where the DSM shines. It can do a lot of things pretty well to make for an incredibly high average compared to most other cars. The only other place a DSM has the hands down win is in garage time! -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

QUOTE (Benny Z @ Jun 16 2004, 11:13 AM) hmmm.... http://www.scca.com/Event/Event.asp?IdS=01...DAAFCE0&Id=1530 anyone up for a trip to indiana in august? no bites? you must be an SCCA member and have a valid driver's license to race, but that's the only requirement. if you race more than two pro solo events per season, a license is required, but not for just one per season. any takers? |
