hey j-bone,
rumor in this neck of the woods has it that your pretty damn good with electrical and wiring stuff? I was wondering if a case of beer to be named later and some pocket lint could drag the master out of the wood works to help me on my car sometime in the next three weeks.
I understand power and ground, and thats about it. I would be able to get the car to peoria and would be extremely greatfull. favor to be owed later.
These are the electrical issues the car has right now:

driver side window held up by a two by four
got a blinky head light, sometimes goes up and down, usually doesnt.
radio harness is hacked and speaker wire arent attatched.
tach, fuel, oil pressure, and water temp don't work on the gauge cluster...
the blinkers work, but they dont show it properly on the gauge cluster...

and i think thats it. the cars pretty gutted so all of the wiring harness is easy to get to... Just curious if you could give me a hand and teach me a thing or two...
thanks.
xian

do you have a haynes or chiltons?? You should be able to figure most of it out with one of those, and as far as the stereo harness goes, i would just run new speaker wire to each speaker since u already have the car gutted, its a lot easier then trying to figure out which whire is which, ENLESS you have a manual!

goodluck!

we have a manual... but it's my first time ever reading those diagrams.. they make some sense, but i get lost... The aggrevating thing is that the issues keep piling up, just as i feel close to tracking down one, another one pops up. By the time it took for me to figure out the battery eating issue, i had a window that wouldn't go up, and no tach... That's why at this point in time, I just want to call in someone who knows his stuff who can teach me a 101 in electrical issues while hopefully knocking a couple of my problems out of my way, and when i leave i'd feel more confident in trying to track down the rest.

He's not at ICC during the summer so he doesn't intraweb, I'll drop him a line if I see him at his workplace.
