I heard the new CRVs catch on fire after the first oil change. If Honda is no longer reliable, what good are they? Whatever happened to the import cars of the 80s that last past 200K without any major repairs?

Yeah, its the oil filter bearings. One you change the oil, they fall out. They're really small and clear, so most people don't see them. That and when the oil filter place only puts 3/4 of the oil back in. 50 miles or so down the road the vehicle busts into flames. Dam Honda's. What a POS!

All car companies are concerned with today is lining their own pockets. I want the old 626s from the eighties. Cars like that ran forever. Now we have a company known for reliable economy cars bursting into flame. So what else will happen down the line if something like that slips through the cracks? Public transportation needs to be a bigger thing in every city. A New York Style Metro would make life so much easier. You can get anywhere in New York within about a city block with the Subway. I hope Chicago has a decent one if I ever get their. My old man's Chrysler transmission locked up. The mechanics said it was amazing it made it past 100K miles. They ussually go at 60K! I know cars can be built to last a long time, they just aren't. I need to be a hermit.

Chicago's 'El' works pretty good. I've taken it to Wrigley field from downtown on a few occasions when I've visited Chicago.
