today at work i was cruisin the isles in my nice yellow forktruck and decided to go take it to the bay to get the hydraulic fluid leak fixed. while there, i noticed there were a couple other fork trucks up on jack stands with their motors out. turns out, these certain trucks are powered by non other than a mitsubishi ZG63 4-cylinder motor. appeared to be a sohc. there were turbos and manifolds and all sorts of engine bits lying around the ground, but im not sure if they were to those motors. anyway, just thought id share what some of the CAT fork trucks are packin!!!!!!

I've heard about these before. I believe it's actually a diesel setup. I might be mistaken, but there was a guy on another board that wanted a diesel eclipse (don't ask why), and I think he was trying to find an old Mistu forklift for the donor engine.

maybe he wanted to pull trailers or something..... the only thing I can think of logically better about diesel is it gets better mileage and it delivers more low end torque than regular gasoline

they use 4g64s in fork trucks also. It's really a perfect application for it. Loads of torque at the bottom right where its needed.
