I was able to make it to the NOPI 'Race Wars' Sunday with the family thanks to some help from team AWDNOT2.com

The weather was damp and cool for spectating, but made for some great 1/4 mile times. The track crew must have done an excellent job preping the track after Saturday nights rain because there seemed to be very few hook-up issues.

For the sake of DSM owners I have broken out the results Ranta posted below. Then there are some pics! All the pics can be found in the gallery at: http://www.dsmcentral.com/photo/thumbnails.php?album=17

Qualifying for Nitrous Express Pro 4 Cylinder
Darry Hudson – Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX – 9.488 @151.10 (Before breaking engine)

Elimination Results for Nitrous Express Pro 4 Cylinder

Gary Gardella – Honda Civic - .000 RT – Broke

Krystos Efantis – Toyota Supra - .213 RT – 8.659@167.49 – Winner
John Shepherd – Eagle Talon - .250 RT – 8.742@167.88 - Loss by .083 of a second!!!

Elimination Results for Number One Pro Outlaw RWD
Paul Efantis – Toyota Solara - .104 RT – 7.416@185.59 – Winner
Brent Rau – Mitsubishi Eclipse - .495 RT – 10.168 @89.92 – Loss
Brent Blew the tires hugging the outer wall but was smart enough to get out of it!

Actually you have to add in the difference in reaction times. He ended up losing by .120 of second. John said it wasn't even close at the end.

Doing the math at about 167 mph you cover about around 25 feet in .120 of a second. A 1G DSM is just over 14 feet long.

I was affraid of that, but the MPH is what is strange to me. John had him out of the hole by an easy1/2-1 car even with the slower reaction time. Then the Supra proceeded to catch and pass him even though they were both going the same MPH through the traps!?!?! blink.gif wacko.gif WTF?

The turbo on the Supra went out on the top end. That supra ran 8.3 in Bristol two weeks ago.
