True you can talk about other makes here. We use it for comparison purposes as well as general interest.

You better keep this to facts though. Image posted a link to actuall LS1 owners findings. I suggest if you have any other findings or some that add to those please post them.

If this turns into a bunch of BS opinions about what an LS1 will do if this and if that without proof, or this turns into the long lived awd4me/image bashing post, this thread will be gone and any usefull information with it.

The only thing I have to say is it's an auto, so it wouldn't be as hard to launch as one of the corvettes wich I assume had t56 6 speed trannies. That being said, if it had aftermarket rear control arms, they are pretty much set for traction with good tires, unlike older cars wich have had time for frame twist, rust, ect. to disturb traction.

That being said, it was never taken down the 1/4, and a supercharger is a lot different then nitrous.

Personally I don't care either way, I have no vested intrest. Besides, what do I know, I've got a 35+ year old car w/ a bad tranny.

in my opinion a stall isnt a big mod....and i dont think that built tranny is gonna make him much faster, unless maybe it added a shift kit, i think its just there to make sure he didnt blow the stock tranny up......and about your brothers vette did you work on it? tongue.gif now i could be wrong, but i would think a sprayed, cammed vette with bolt ons would be able to make it out of the 13's....but i see your point of saying that not all cars with certain mods will make the same power.....

hmmm... last time I checked DSM was owned by both Chrysler and Mitsubishi and the Talon/Eclipse/Laser lines were all manufactured in Normal, IL. Kinda makes them domestics. ohmy.gif tongue.gif

are you sure there wasnt something wrong with this vette....was he blowin tires off? now ill admit i may not be the smarted guy in the world when it comes to cars, but im sure that vette should do better than 13's....

MY point was.... don't believe everything you read on the internet! No real racer is going to tell you exactly what is done to his car. Trust me. If you go to pro-import racer/team pages, their list of mods is sometimes vauge and usually doesn't list everything. If they did, there wouldn't be any competition or secrets out there. Sometimes if you ask them a question about their setup, they'll tell you something totally different so you don't just run out and copy what they have done. The thing to do is read and question things. If you just go along with everything people tell you, you're not really learning anything because you don't understand why to do it vs another way.
