the only thing I like more about the STi is the variable front to rear power distribusion
other than that... I far prefer the EVO -------------------- You CAN sleep in your car, but your CAN NOT race your house!!!

well the USDM STi has the ej25det, a 2.5 litre w/ 300hp (claimed). the same model in Japan is still the famed ej20det, 2.0 flat four turbo making somewhere around 270 hp. im assuming that link and stats are for the JDM version because nobody around here measures power in ps.
i would still take the STi though -------------------- 2001 Chevy Silverado ext. cab 4x4

Technically it should be a poll between the new Evo VII MR, which BLOWS the STi outta the water. It has faster track times( autox and drag) and has everythig the STi has, plus some. but i'd still go for an Evo.

but is the MR even in production yet? i think ive read about it and it is truly badass. trust me, these two vehicles are the cars i would choose over any ferrari or anything like that. but i would still take the STi.
personally i hate the USDM taillights on the evo's. but i have to admit, ive seriously looked into both, and they are really close. for me, the fact that the evo has what, a 13 gallon gas tank, and clear tail lights and all that performance, i would be fillin up every day. this is not me bashn the evo, id kill for one, but my heart is in the STi. but what is that new evo that has no wing, no radio, no ac, etc.... they are really cheap. -------------------- 2001 Chevy Silverado ext. cab 4x4

Having driven both, for cruising I would choose the STi, it has more roll-on power and off-boost torque, and for track I would choose the EVO, they have an amazing suspension. For the money, I would have to look elsewhere. However, since I cruise far more than I race, I would choose the STi. But then again, the ol' FWD has smoked both, so how about I save the $22,000 and drive it forever?

The evo was definately more roomy in the back than the wrx, I'd assume it was the same way for the sti. If you're going to have a dedicated 4 door, it should be able to fit 4 6' adults comfortably, and I never felt the wrx did the job. For my money, EVO all the way.
