So I came into conciousness this morning as sunlight began to glow in my room this morning. Sounds sweet except I'm supposed to get up when it's still dark! I was running about 45min. - 1hr late from my BFE home. So with the old wash-rag shower I was out the door hoping to make up some time in the GST on my normal 35-45min. drive.

As I pulled up to enter the highway, a new Mustang GT with nice wheels goes rolling by. Great fun...except I don't have time, I thought. So I pounded a few gears and swung past him without even worrying if he would want to play or not. I didn't get more than 3 miles down the road before I came upon a local Grand National owner with a bit of a rep for being fast. What luck I'm having on a morning with no time!

Well, the highway had too much oncoming traffic to pass and my lead man was scooting along at a fair pace. I laid on his back porch for the next 8 miles or so until we got out to the 4 lane. As we entered the normal highway speed area I gradually increased speed through 4th and into 5th intent on making up some time. Mr. GN was having non of this and he shot ahead with cloud of fuel black smoke. Ok fine, I dropped back into third and gave chase in hopes of a very fast lead man. Well we came upon a little traffic and he decided to lead me in my own lane then he proceeded to slow back down to normal speeds. I was about to come unglued! This dude was not helping my situation.

After a few miles though, he got back over and I eased up beside him, careful not to set off his retro rockets again. he finally looked over with a glare and I gave him a thumbs up and mouthed 'T H A T 'S C O O L' and he smiled and return the thumbs up. I then pointed to my wrist and mouthed 'B U T I 'M R U N N I N G L A T E' and off I went without the suprisingly agrevating race hound! rolleyes.gif

Wouldn't you know it...I ran into that ugly pooper rain storm a mile or two later! FWD with little tire tread is a bit squirely in the rain. unsure.gif

What the heck was going on! I very rarely get two nice cars to play with like that right in a row. It figures I would get them in that kind of situation. It's alright because that GN would smoke me at least until his gear ran out.. laugh.gif
