well, this is a bit over due and late news, but i thought i'd post it up anyways to continue on with ben's idea of showing progress on a project to the board.
as most of you already know, the old red sally went on to be in tyler's hands, and i continued on with my fetish for products and cars that have passed through spy's hands. here are few pics, and update on what mods have made it off the shelf and into the car, what mods are still on the shelf, and what mods i am waiting to buy.... (i think this is my second productive post ![]() i apologize for the pic size, i'm drivng and can't adobe them down. smoke added for effect. good bye sally. we had a love hate relationship wihle it lasted. we just were never meant to be together.... ![]() hello caged car... of course the spy scooped hood will be on the acquired from spy caged car. travis was happy to see this one come back to champaign... ![]() what does the bloomington idb think huh? champaign's crew dressed in their sunday best.... thanks eric and marty for the help with the engine pull... took about and hour and half, two hours... ![]() ![]() ![]() and plop.... ![]() a big thanks to drew for the help dropping her in. Don't know how you managed to avoid all photo's... and to Travis for the final umf to get the engine and transmission in. I hate my damn motor mounts... everyone else's motor's seem to just drop right in.. mine are funky and you have to a jack under the engine and then the motion of the ocean along with some good ole fashioned ky to get her in.... well, that took all of four hours... a month ago... sorry for the belated post... i'll post the mods and work to do later... just had to get that one off of my chest. -------------------- game over.

I'd love too... but first i have to stop helping make others cars run and finish putting in uiuc pipe, transfer case, half shafts, and oil... lol... it's been sittinglike this for about a month now... i'm getting really itchy to actually drive my dsm... i think it's time to buy the ls 1 engine to drop into the dd s10 that way i'll have to make sure this car is running...

here's the beginning of the mods on and to come, pics where available, sorry about the size, driving and I don't have adobe on the work laptop...
2.5 uiuc, this peice is actually going to be swapped real soon, I have to acquire the uiuc pipe that goes w/ the fmic i just purchased. 2g throttle body elbow ![]() 8mm accel spark plug wires... these were a born on date gift from travis. funny when spark plug wires are something your excited to get for your born on date. eprom ecu, needs to be socketed, chipped, and re-capped ![]() that's probally about the maximum number of pics i can put in this reply before the programming starts spitting crap at me.... -------------------- game over.

i have a light aftermarket flywheel. can't remember the brand. all i know is it's blue for boy, and needs resurfacing or something. i think it was acquired from soneone in peoria????,
in either case behind my uncle bens blue flywheel is a stage 2 clutch. it's not name brand, it's just an upgrade from the stock friction disk and pressure plate. ![]() fuel pump re-wire ![]() supra fuel pump, IMHO, the supra is a better choice than the walboro255 untill your pushing 30psi or higher. I'm not there by any means. It's a bolt on, and i believe it out flows the walboro at the boost levels i'm at. also, a fpr isn't needed with the supra. this is actually on the car now, and not on the shelf. ![]() 3inch gm mass, and maft translator, not pictured, for blow through set up. this is on the shelf untill the car is running first. -------------------- game over.

a monster rear strut bar. mwuahahaa... came with the car. ![]() 8pt roll cage, came with the car. ![]() ended up stealing travis's enkie's with nitto 550's. ![]() -------------------- game over.

mods and maintanance i don't have pictures for...
on the car: cable end solid bushings, installed on the shelf: most of this will probally stay off untill the car is up and running. balance shaft eliminator kit, not installed after seeing enough parts cars come in from slipped timing belts, well, i finally ordered a timing belt kit, not installed manual boost controller, not installed boost gauge and single a pillar pod, not installed battery relocation kit, not installed 5 pt harnesses, not installed buchur street kit fmic, not installed 2g ex manifold, not installed 2g 02 housing, not installed what's next: s and a polishing messed up my 14 b, shawn. So i'm in the market for a turbo, something larger... thanks eric for letting my non-running car be the storage place for small 16 g while you didn't need it. and i feel pretty silly with out an exhaust right now. the stock one was pinched off on one of the muffler outlets, so i'm running open stock down pipe right now. kind of looking at making one in house right now. and then, some injectors and whatever supporting mods the turbo i get will need. then possibly some suspension... kou stainless tubular external dumped 02 housing kou shift knob -------------------- game over.

I love the mail man. altlhough he's probally tired of me humping his legs...
just got a few things in the other day, here's a few pics.... ![]() needs a bit of buffing and polishing... but can't beAT the price. ![]() mmm... fidanza. ![]() not dealing with broken ex man bolts anymore... priceless.... ![]() was told after i got it that i should have gone with a 2900, so we'll se how far this takes me before it goes up for sale. got a little bolt on power adder in the mail that should be in for pics in a few weeks. working too much to do much right now... so it's all jsut sittin gonthe shelf. can't wait for my contract to be over to work on the car again. -------------------- game over.

Xian: In regards to the clutch, I think you'll be happy with it. The 2900, from what I've read/heard, is nearly a full-race set-up, even with a street disc. And the pedal effort is nasty. The 2600 has gone into the 10s, and even with a big turbo and the insane set-up I envision you running, it'll take a while to get there or faster. So, I guess my point is that it will make a good "tuning" clutch for you to use during the set-up and tweaking of the car

haha...i know what your talking about...for right now, i drive 12+ hours a day. plus 3-5 of working on other peoples cars or web stuff for the shop... as soon as the driving job ends mylife will revolve around putting this car together and tuning her in.... my list of mods is growing. and the car is almost the bully i want it to be. looking forward to spending time with my love. i'm glad i'll have a board to turn to with my questions as i install and run into problems and tweaks.
