Local Gumball Run: gauging interest. Ca$h prize

KOUmotorsports is considering sponsoring a local Gumball Run. Spring is a possibility but I'm loath to wait through all those months of hype. So we're wondering if there's the interest to pull this off in the next month. Say the last real drivable day of the year.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here are the highlights:

$1000 (one thousand dollars) cash prize to the winner.
'Race' from Peoria to KOUmotorsports in Champaign/Urbana.

$75 entry fee

Disclaimer: We assume that everyone will follow all local laws/regulations, etc. However, we won't have the staff to actively monitor your driving.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there enough interest for us to make this happen?

1000 dollars from Peo to Champaign? And you think people will obey the speed laws?

Can't say that I much care if they obey them. For legal reasons I have to "expect" everyone to do so.

For all I know there is some undiscovered route that takes you from P-Town to Chambana in 20 min flat. ph34r.gif

well,

I'd be up for it but.....

1) I'd either loose my driver's license or

2) I'd kill myself in my car trying to beat spy.

The prize money should be enough to take care of tickets and bail.

*IF* you win. wink.gif

I WOULD be up to it, but i can't afford $75 or a ticket, or a license suspension.

I did urbana to ohare in 2:18, in the snow a few days before new years

Dave Netter can verify, he was riding shotgun, we saw 30 cars in the ditch on the way up

Who said anything about stopping? I can still win the race with the cops on my pooper. Sirens sound like motivation to me. biggthumpup.gif

3s cars seem to do better on the long straights than the average dsm. Iv slain many a dsm with that 3s, typically on long duration 5th gear pulls of 140+. 14b powered dsm cars tend to burn up when doing that. The 3s however is happy, and not struggling what so ever. SO stuff it lowly dsm fags.

Yeah, until t-case blows up or the cylinders run lean. Hmm...sounds like a run-of-the-mill DSM to me. How is the 3000 nowadays, Spy? Oh that's right, its getting water pumped out of the footwell.

Yes, I'm sure the authorities are currently monitoring every road in a 24 hour sweep cracking down on the potential legal Gumball Rally that might happen sometime between two weeks ago and June.

ph34r.gif

Plus, they help make it something of an obstacle course.
