So I was sitting around about 10pm bored when I looked out the window. Oh Snap! About an inch of snow on the ground. To the DSM!

Two hours later I came back, with my quota of WRC style corners and on-axis donuts completed and the car no worse for the wear.

Now I'm bored again. Anybody else have any fun tonight?

Does a half-a$$ed donut and some sweet drifts in an AWD Saturn Vue count for anything? I didn't think so...

AWD's in the snow...AWWW MAN I miss that!!!

I've actually been drifting the dd FWD for the past few days! Although I've joined Spy on a number of sideways passes, I'm still impressed with this things ability to hang the a$$ end out for long periods of time.

Infact on my drive to work the other morning after the snow, I found myself in a line of cars moving relatively slow (45-50mph). I waited patiently in line for a while, but the snow covered passing lane kept calling to me. wink.gif So I thought 'I'll give it a shot' WOW! I had trouble getting in to the miles long snow drift and obviosly once in it I found the car VERY hard to control. Hmmm maybe this isn't such a good idea with these old tires I thought...

I was about to swallow my pride and pull back in behind my previous leader that was now pulling away in the cleaner lane. That's about the time the FWD started showing me it's tricks as the a$$ end came around on the left to put me at about a 40 degree agle to travel direction! My need for survival and hopes of becomeing a rally driver took over as I feathered the gas to keep my planned direction in action. I was amazed how long I drove at that +/-40 degree angle. It started to straighten out a bit and then resumed the 40 degree slant again. At this point I was actually enjoying this four wheel freedom! Finally I was able point the nose in the correct direction and ease back into the slow lane behinde my now shocked leader. laugh.gif

Snow! Good Times. biggthumpup.gif

I missed driving the AWD in the snow last winter (car was broke) sad.gif

I am missing it again this winter (deployed in Iraq) blink.gif

I better get to enjoy it next year or Mother Nature is gonna hear about it. dry.gif

After work last night I went out to the church parking lot (Big lot, with no lights in the middle) did a series of donuts there, but got bored. Headed over to main st. where there were NO PEOPLE (besides the people havig fun) and would drive off of it, go aroudn the block, come back and drift back onto it, did a little donut (its hard to keep it tight with AWD) and kept "drifting" some more. It was the first time i've ever had fun in the snow with my AWD. So much fun.
