I always got 22-23mpg out of my 92 AWD from the time it was running 15's to the time it was running 12's. Having my foot in it made very little difference in the average and that always amazed me. My 90 FWD gets 23-24mpg average.

I got about 24 out of my GSX when i bought it, and my o2 sensor went dead which dropped to still getting about 21-22. This of course when it was still running.

I usually get 30-35 out of my tsi. It was worse when I was running 93 octane. I recently found out the hard way that just because 90's and some 91's only say "Unleaded fuel only" on the dash, it doesn't mean I can run 87 all the time. Burning up cyl 3 is what I get for saving a little at the pump.

dstock22- Chances are that you need to replace your O2 sensor. I'd reccomend logging it to verify but it is the most likely culprit of your poor gas mileage.

hmmm possibly, but 12 miles to the gallon in a damn 4banger..... that is worse than almost every v8, i know the turbo makes a diff. but damn, that much of a difference?

I get about 23 mpg in the Evo. I don't even want to hazard a guess for the Talon. I agree with KOU, you may need a new O2 sensor.

You can get them fairly inexpensively from autozone. Not too hard to install. Getting the old one out is usually the hardest part because its usually frozen pretty well in the O2 housing. You'll need a wrench that will fit the O2 sensor (22 mm I think, not positive though) and plenty of PB Blaster or the like. It might be easier if the wrench has a swivel end also. I haven't had a stock O2 housing in quite a while, but if I remember right just getting the wrench on the O2 sensor in the stock housing can be cause for some contortion.

i was getting around that when i was running the walbro fuel gushing biotch pump and the little squirtin 450's with a leaky stocker dp and a ignition that soon after took a big crap. o yeah and the o2 was coated in a nice black charcoal turd when i finally removed it.

I get 22-24 in my GSX even with the mods... 12 is rediculous.... I agree w/ the O2 sensor theory, i believe they are between $100 and $120 at advance or auto zone...
Zone also does loan-a-tool on the O2 sensor removal tool and Advance sells them for like $12, but if the sensor is too frozen you may end up just stripping the head on the sensor... but the tool is very handy for the install (it has a slot for the wire to go in) hint: 12 point deep well sockets allow room for the wire too. -------------------- You CAN sleep in your car, but your CAN NOT race your house!!!

You should stick to OEM O2's, or atleast DO NOT get a BOSCH. KOU in3 and Spooled91 will back this up. Bosch tends throw all sorts of problems at DSM's.
Get the special tool. -------------------- game over.

I've got a couple used stockers if you want to give one a try... not sure if they're any good or not, but you're welcome to try one.

On average, I get 18-22. Keep in mind that I run a 9:1 bottom end and have the AFC set at +10% across the board during the winter. On the other hand, when running 22psi and 110 leaded, I got 130 miles out of a tank during a long night of tuning and racing, so figure about 8mpg. You will also get less mpg in the colder weather.
