I test drove a '00 Hondu Civic that was a 2 door EX, sunroof, 5spd, with 30k on the ticker and they only wanted $5k. I was close to buying that one but, the green color wasn't really appealing and I really needed a truck.

QUOTE Buy a the car that we shall not name for 3K and keep the rest of your money for another car. I have like 4k for a down payment then the rest will have to be financed so im not going to take extra cash if I can avoid. I would have one nice talon otherwise. Wouldn’t have happened to be a green civic in South Pekin would it? someone was telling me about a 2000 EX they were looking at but once again, green proved to be the fatal decision made by the original owner. I have tomorrow off so I should be able to get out and take a few more test drives. Hope so. The used car market is starting to look better by the day. |

Nope, this one was at the Hondu dealership here in Bloomington.
I bought my 98 Chevy S10 with a 4cylinder 5spd with 81k on the ticker for $3k. It's the most base package you can get but if you're looking for a good parts hauling truck, I've been very happy with mine. I ended up buying new tires, serpentine belt, idler arm, center link, tailgate pieces to fix it, front brake pads, packing the wheel bearings, and an alignment but all that was had at under $1000. I'm a stickler when it comes to maintenance. Best $4000 truck I've ever come across. No leaks and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it to California and back. In fact, I just drove it to Carbondale and back (I made it in 3 hours per direction doing 80-85 the whole way) and still got about 25 miles/gallon. -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"
