I need to swap out the fuel filter on my Talon. Anything to watch for when I remove it? I looking for any "Watch out for xxxx, you'll break the tube" kind of issues....

i'm not sure on the wix filter, or that particular brand. I have used non-oem filters and have been fine.
as far as what to watch out for... i've only done it once, and it was a breeze, but my engine was out. just get a clear shot at and you should be fine. -------------------- game over.

Be careful, don't get frustrated if the banjo bolt won't come off. Soak it in PB Blaster the day before and it should come right off.
Wix filters are good, better than OEM from what I've seen. -------------------- 2009 Scion Tc

WIX filters are endorsed by Nascar and Nascar don't endorse no junk yaheeere?!
On the serious side of things, it's relatively hard the first time you do it but you'll get it. Try using combination (a wrench with one open end and one closed end) wrenches and lots of PB blaster if it wants to resist. -------------------- "I hear he tunes the space shuttle also...and that thing is fast"

Thanks guys for the PB blaster tip....that's the hints I was looking for.

Don't bother with putting it on top the fuel filter, get one when you get an Aftermarket fuel pressure regulator and use the special port on the side of the regulator for the gauge. But, that's just my opinion

I got my gauge for less than $30, with the fitting that replaces the banjo bolt.

I have used the B&M guage kit that Moushon is referring to. The needle does shake quite a bit. I'd say it shakes about 3 marks on the guage, but you can still tell pretty well what pressure you are running. I got sick of it though and have since upgraded to a liquid filled guage.

Well, I checked Summit and they have the tapped banjo fitting for $14.69 from the B&M gauge set and I can get a Summit Liquid filled gauge for $20...guess I could get that combination. Summit lists the ship date for the banjo fitting 4/18!!! Must be a shortage of them.

Normal fuel pressure when running no vacuum to the fpr should be about 42 psi. With vacuum hooked up it should be about 37-38 psi. If you ever plan on running more than 18 psi of boost you will be maxxing out a 60 psi guage when boosting. But since you'll probably only be using the gauge to set your base pressure, that may not matter to you.

I'm only worried about base FP. It'll be easier to read a 60 PSI gauge vs a 100, I'm getting old!!

The only time it shakes is when I'm almost out of gas. Otherwise it is fine.
