What my question is, how far are they going to take the name "eclipes" and try and make money from the name? If you look at the start of the eclipes, the 1g, there are not many charactoristics that are still in use even with the 3g's. Hell the only reason they kept the same name is that it sells cars. They should have dropped the name with the last made 99 when you atleast had the option for GSX!

I'm impressed by the aperrance of the new Eclpise, all thougth the lack of the turbo doesn't apeal to me ! But what I don't get is the term " Womans car" ! The 260 V-6is a industry standard now! I personaly wouldn't put my wife in a car that has a 160 hp. 4 popper. I think some people might consider the 4cly version a teenagers car. That is for insurance reasons .The V-6 version would yes be a 18- 30 yr.old field .
If the aftermarket companies keep on the pace that they have been, then
there will be alot of hopup parts available for both versions of the Eclipes.
It didn't take them long to develope power programers for the new Dodge trucks
w/ the Hemi's! Heck, I would almost bank that there is dealer options only for the
new upcoming Eclipse!!
As far as a womans car , NA!! It is a anybody type of car !! Young, Old, Guy ,Gal ! Just depends on the individual !! But hey, that's just my thoughts !! One thought that has me impressed is how you guys and gals come up with ways to make these cars faster and handle they way you do !! Free Mod here and there , swap out this for that and so forthe!

"Mitsubishi paid a record $34 million to settle a class-action suit on behalf of all female employees at its sole U. S. auto plant - the largest sexual harassment case in U. S. history. This won't help the company sell its cars to women, who buy well over half of its key Eclipse model."

This was back when the 2nd gen was being produced. Not to mention the increase of women buyers with the current model. Most of which own the GS (4cyl).
