http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread...dy+small+nipple

I got mine in the other day and was looking up information on the small nipple on the bov. Please read the above forum... Does anyone know the correct way to install the bov? Do you leave the small nipple open? and What is the flutter noise - does that really cause damage to the turbo.

I'm asking cause I left the smaller nipple open and I do have flutter noise after installing the bov. Note* I'm not getting the sound that I want from the bov- going to adjust the screw later today.

Anyone have any comments on this??

The flutter noise is representative of compressor surge. You should be able to leave the smaller nipple open to atmosphere and adjust the set screw out to relieve the compressor surge. Basically, the valve isn't opening easily enough.

yeah, you could set the lower nipple to a vacuum port with a line off the intake manifold after the throttle body that only saw vacuum. I'd use a check valve for this if you're unable to find a port on the tb. that only reads vacuum. This should allow you to set a low spring pressure and still have it seated at idle.

Does it flutter when letting off of the accelerator at all boost levels? If so I would soften up the set screw. I think that it is pretty common up to about 7lbs.
