Yeah we all like giving GVR4 a hard time for not checking his facts first, but beyond that...
What do you think of the EVO Favre95?! Lets here some commentary, some review and comparisons to what you used to own. I would personally enjoy seeing some pics and hopefully checking this thing out in person soon! Marcus -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

Hell this car makes a DSM look weak....that is right out of the box...not modded. It is very very stiff, you feel everything. I am keeping the revs around 4500 for the breakin period, which is about 6-800 miles. But picks up very well with staying under 4500....I am barley letting the turbo do it's job at this point. It is very hard to give a full review of this car without having it broke in. But, everything about this car is awesome. Brakes, wheels, HID light(leveler dial in the car), recaros are very supportive, stereo is decent for stock, center mounted tach is cool...not used to it though, shifter is slick and fairly short, clutch grabs faster than a DSM, big wing is just freakin cool with the CF. All I can say is, if you have the money or have the chance to buy one of these....do it! I used to own a 95 eagle talon tsi FWD and there is NO! comparison. The talon was nice and it was my baby, but this car is more than I expected. It is worth every penny at MSRP...and thats what I paid. I have a weightless white evo so you might see me....I am the only one to have one in springfield, hell maybe central illinois for that matter who knows maybe all of illinois...doubt it though. But, it will stick out like a sore thumb. But maybe I'll see ya on the road.

When someone tells him that he is wrong....and does not research to find out if he is wrong or not....and just turns around and says the same thing....sure I am gonna say something half smart assed. The statement " they have every available option" that just makes me laugh....all 2 options(right now) cost 4 grand...come on! There are not even enough accesories available(right now)to take the price up that high. The only thing that will take the price up that high is mark-up. But the sticker price is 30, 812...then goes down from there with the combination of big wing small wing sunroof combinations.

SWEET! Theres no problem getting an AWD DSM up into the straight line performance and EVO come stock with... Yes there is that much difference between a FWD and AWD DSM  You mentioned the tightness and feeling everything...That's what I was hoping to hear. No matter how much we mod our DSM's in any normal fashion, we will not be able to get the EVO specific improvements with frame rigidity, handling, strengthened components and etc. I would love to check this thing out! I'm glad to see someone finally has one. Marcus -------------------- In Loving memory of David T Crebo

What is your problem? I didn't just come up with a random number in my head and post about it. I went to go buy one. Also, going by the GVR4 list, they are suppost to start at 28k, but every dealer is adding something to bump up the price. The red one that we looked at the dealer had added every option avalible to the car like pedels, shifter, crap I don't need. So, I really don't care what sticker you have in your glove box. Does that give you the right to be a dick? It's people like you that make me wonder why I'm even on a list like this tring to maybe help the younger newer younger crowd out. The GVR4 list is a lot better about other people tring to trash someone else for no reason at all. I could have driven a EVO home that night, but there was no way in hell I was going to pay that much for one. As far as how much they cost. That depends on how much the markup is. Does your sticker say MSRP at the bottom? |

True, no reason to fight over it, I just look at it and KNOW that I can't afford it, whether its a 28k steal or a 35k gouging with ralli-art parts included.

Yeah, chill out guys. GVR4 has his facts straight. Paco bought one on CII. The prices were up because the Normal dealership got extra options on their EVO's including...
front strut brace rear strut brace upgraded shift knob upgraded e-brake handle wheel locks and a bunch of areodynamic stuff. according to hopelessly (the Mitsu salesman) on CII. They just posted this stuff over the weekend. |

WOW! Nate, Dan and I all went to Blooming-town to meet up with 'Paco' from Cii. We went to check out his new EVO...one of the four brought into the Bloomington dealership and to get a ride.
This car takes the Lancer well beyond any expectaions I might have had. Again, yes I belive that the straight line performance is easily achievable with a DSM. Aside from that I was completely blown away with the suspension on this beast! Tight, and built 10 time over kill. The car had NO oversterr and would take a 90 turn at 30 mph like you were pulling into a parking spot at a crawl. That car had absolutely NO intentions of straying from the drivers plan course of motion even with cinders on the ground and 800lb's of human weight in the car! The Yokahama's are 235 series and they grip like asphalt polydent. Only now with my new Eibach springs and Koni struts installed in front working synchronously with my spool, do I feel that I could come anywhere close to keeping up with this stock vehicle in the corners. To put that in perspective I feel that my current suspension set-up is 10 times better than stock DSM, and twice as good as it ws before the spool. WOW! Check out some pictures of the EVO's in my Gallery along with a couple shots of my suspension. [EDIT: Well I'm not sure where the pictures went to, but I did upload them. That car gave me the most solid yet comfortable feeling of any car I've ever riden in...and it was stock. A controllable bullet. IMO, still not worth $30-$35K though, when we can get similar results by paying thousands upon thousands less on modding an AWD DSM.

just to let you know....everything you listed in your last post...was not an option...they are accesories....big difference. The only options available are the wing, sunroof, and soon to be 6 disc changer. Next time say that they added accesories...not options!...and yes there is a difference. You should be able to go into that dealer and still buy that car for the original sticker value. With them taking all the accesories off. They cannot take options off. This is the way I took your message and I apologize...I am a member of the evolutionm.net site....and we get a lot of strokes that think they know what they are talking about. That spread alot of misinformation around, that starts stupid rumors. And it gets VERY old....but in my last post notice I did say that the price increase could be due to the dealer mark-up.
