For the amount they go for anymore I think I’ll pass, I could think of a lot better things to do with my cash. Its all personal perception though, supra guys wonder why people blow all their money on f-bodys, or mustangs etc. and vice versa. or could it just be ......... ph34r.gif way2fast way2furious ? ph34r.gif

Honestly i would never pay the money those cars are going for....
But i do like the car, it's a dog from 0-60ish but after that it pulls and keeps on pulling. This is a stock car with full exhaust i'm talking about.

From 0-100ish i wouldnt be worried, the 350Z can hold one(be it an auto) for that long. After a 100 is another story, i dont know why but the supra pulls very well uptop.

do it. get the damn supra. I know how you drive. Let's be honest. The EVO is the only car that hasn't been a FR that you were impressed with. I know how you like the roll on capability that these have. and how you like to wind out until top gear. the only reasons you shouldn't get one is the seating capacity (since you have a family and all) and because new EVOs have warranties. I don't care if it delays the innevitable modding, the warranty is such a nice feature.

I wouldn't wipe my ass with my evo warranty for what it's worth. Mitsubishi dealerships seem to have no idea of what a warranty is for, or how to honor it. Every significant problem they ignore or turn down because it fits their ever expanding definition of a wear item.

they do the same thing when you bring in a completely bone stock Hyundai with a blown head gasket....

some how since a thermostat is a wear item and they think that the thermostat stuck causing the blown head gasket.... the head gasket fell under the wear item blanket too.

Tough call. Probably not the most efficient way to spend your money, but on the other hand, you'd definitely get the "double-take" effect driving a MKIV around. Guess it depends on what you really want. Want a quick, superbly handling, nimble car? Get an Evo. Want a dyno destroying, Viper killing, highway monster? Get the Supra. Want both cheaper, mod the hell out of a DSM. biggthumpup.gif

they are nice cars, though they are overhyped IMO. Now spy, I know your'e not a huge fan of the 3000gt vr4/stealth, but check this out...

92 VR-4

60' - 1.703
1/8 - 7.666
MPH - 90.16
1/4 - 11.893
MPH - 118.04 <-----DAMN!!

the mods you ask??

13t's + robs work .................$838
Z06 MAFT...........................$250
550cc................................$295
Hotwired Walbro...................$100
MBC....................................$20
Gutted pre-cats & testpipe....Free

GRAND TOTAL..........................~$1300

this was done with 3 gallons of 112 octane with a rich tune(.96v@WOT)

STOCK downpipe
STOCK exhaust
STOCK clutch
FULL weight

Are you impressed or are you impressed? For this type of power/$ ratio, the supra has met its match, at least in this particular case. What do you think? I for one am VERY impressed. Imagine the possibilities with a turboback, weight reduction, lighter wheels, clutch and flywheel!!

Comments,
Nomie

oh yea, did somone say something about supra's and gearing? The 3/s community now has the option to install JDM gears which (gasp!) give similar ratios to the supra! Its for the 6-speed only...smile.gif what do you guys think??

Nomie, I loved my 3S. Only recently did Shamou and I part ways.
My stock 9b vr4 went 12.9 @ 105 on straight up 93 octane.

Maybe the bar should be set a little higher for the 3s.... eehhhh.... first goal is to get it tore apart. laugh.gif

Buy a 3000GT Dan! You know you miss Shamou. Sure, it was a lot of work but you still can't beat the feeling. Buy a nice (newer) 3000 Vr4 and put whatever you have left over into modifications. I'd buy a 3S car long before I bought a Toyocrapper Supra.

I'll jump at the chance, once I have a clutch pedal again.
