i have 90 gsx , bought it with a blown up motor, wondering if anyone has pulled just the engine out while leaving the tranny in ? it looks like it might fit but the PP might get hung up on the bellhousing......advise ?let me know

by the time you are said and done, it's only about 10 bolts and the tranny is out too, and I'm sure it will make things a lot easier on you.
The tranny and motor will come out in one piece from the top, I know that much. -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....

best bet is to pull both the motor and trans at the same time. and then attach the trans to the new motor and slid the whole assembly back in. it will save you the headache of benchpressing the tranny back onto the output shaft.

Out of curiousity, does that trick work on a 1G too?

I believe they're talking about a 1g, but either way, I'm pretty sure that it's a universal procedure with both gens.

Oops thought they were talking about a 2g, dont know what i was smokin. lol Wish i woulda known this before, would have saved me alot of time
