Hey guys I need a helmet for Nov. 6! Does anyone have an extra helmet that I could borrow or rent? Or can some one give me a good price on one?

Pawn shop, motorcycle dealership, or yard sales. Those are your best bets for used/cheap helmets more than likely. I bought mine (even though it's a motocross style helmet) for $35 plus shipping through the Sportsmans Guide back in the day. The only difference between it and an open face helmet is the jaw guard and the big sun visor on top. Good enough for me!

Keep in mind that although it may work for Cordova, if you ever plan on auto-x you need a helmet that meets certain specs. Last I checked I thought it was Snell95 or better, but it may have changed.

^Good point James. I think mine's a DOT 02 version. I don't believe it has a Snell sticker on it though.

Eh, maybe. It's a good idea to have one anyway though. I know I wouldn't go down the strip without one.

At Vicary day they were checking the stickers on the inside of the helmet for the rating. I'm not sure what the minimum requirement was, I hid my helmet so they wouldn't check it. But I guess my car doesn't look like it runs 13's, cause they didn't ask to see my helmet.

It the interest of simpliying tech, just don't offer it up. If your not sure you'll run 13's tell them so. But if you do run a 13 after tech, they will probably ask you for your helmet in the staging lanes.

That one's DOT certified but I don't see a Snell rating. Graphics are kind of goofy but whatever floats your boat! wink.gif

Oh man your killing me. Dueces Wild brothers, I am a crazy man when it comes to racing. The addrenaline rush can't be replaced! laugh.gif
I just sent an email to them asking about the snell rating. And if it didn't to see if I can upgrade to one that does before they ship it. Hopefully they will grant me my wish. unsure.gif

That's the one I have. Looks like it does NOT have a Snell rating just DOT.

blink.gif Reducers should only cost like $5 apiece. Try www.turbohoses.com or www.injen.com

EDIT: Looked up the one you need on turbohoses and it says it's $32.13 How in the world did you come up with $100?
