thanks for the info about the wheels. I guess Ill have to buy wheels too. I would bring it to the track on the 6th but I havent got the motor yet Im going to order it either this weekend or next. I know that JDM doesnt matter but I really just want another motor and tranny with low miles and the one Im getting only has 35000 on it. plus then I will have two motors and then be able to really beef up the other one over a period of time.

I have a question. How many of you think I would be better off taking the motor and out and have it boiled and honed with a slight rebuild/upgrade of internals. Instead of buying the JDM motor? Please let me know b4 I order.

I have only had one experience with a jdm motor and it was crap. Of course it could have been IE (installer error) lol j/k... Rob I'm hoping you got that one.

If there is possibly nothing wrong with your current engine, just put a bit back to build one on the side and drive the piss out of the one you have. These engines are stout, and typically pretty durable. Just don't run it lean, watch your knock sums.

Yeah, man, if you just want a spare engine, buy a US market 6 bolt. Once you boil, machine and rebuild it, it'll have 0miles on it. Makes sense to me. Dollars and sense even! unsure.gif

(Several large gorillas rush into the room to beat the Goat within an inch of his life for the "dollars and sense" joke)

I might have had the hightest mileage motor before I got rid of it to an idiot who blew it up. It had 188k miles on it. I bought it with 170k and boosted it as high as 20psi. 144k? PLEASE. It's still young(er). Do the rebuild and save a buttload of money. Better yet, do what Moushon did. Buy a NA motor. Build that one while you still drive on the one you have.

Sounds like a plan. Although I do have one question. Adam sold me the car with no motor for 500 bucks. Now I told him that I need the motor and tranny also and now he wants 1500. The car needs full exhaust, full interior, rotors, spark plugs, injectors, ecu, rims and tires, I had to fix the front bumper and put one of the side skirts back on. Now do you guys think that it is worth 1500 or what seems reasonable. Let me know so I can agree on something with him.
Thats what i plan on doing now is to just put the stock motor back together and run the piss out of it. Anybody know of anyone who has a ecu for a 91 awd eclipse. If so let me know i need one. Also need injectors.

Pm me, I think I can help you with the injectors. If badbu68 ever gets my 2nd ECU done I will sell my spare to you. It's the one I'm running in my car now. Been about a month sense I replaced the Caps. Let me know if you would like to have them. Let me know if you need any other engine parts also. biggthumpup.gif

Might be worth looking for a parts car with a bad body and good running motor. I've seen a few floating around at the $1500 mark.

Im looking at buying a new set of 550cc injectors. Were would be a good place to get them, or even, who carries them.
