Usually, if it's the "flexible" portion of the return line, people just cut the entire flexible part off and run a section of hose where it used to be with some worm-gear clamps to hold it on. Doesn't look the best but it does work.

Meh, go I'd go stainless then if I were you. Plenty of flexibility and no worries about leaks. The stocker cannot be trusted if you ask me.
