hi, new on here. comming over from CII.
ok, two days ago when i was coming home from work my check engine light came on. wen i got home i checked all the fluids. put a little oil in, and then drove her for like 25 minutes. it never turned off. it runs perfect, seems like nothing is wrong at all. btw the car is a 94 mitsu eclipse that has 96,645 miles on it. its a gs 4g63 non turbo. what could be the problem and should i get it checked out? thanks |

connect an analog voltmeter on terminals 1 & 12 on the data link connector under the driver side dash and messure the long and short sweeps. just write down the results of about 15-20 sweeps of the needle then look for the pattern. It will always start with a long sweep if the light is on. If you dont have the output codes just post your results and someone will be able to tell you what you need to check.

the connector is on the right of the fuse's. #1 is the top left and #12 is the bottom right. you might want to have someone write down yor results while you hold it against the terminals

Or you could sweet talk someone on this list with a datalogger to meet up with you and read the codes.
