I've been planning on what my next mods were going to be for a long time now. Basically it reads, Supra fuel pump, Aeromotive AFPR, 750cc injectors, and the GM MAF to complete it. Now, I keep reading that I may have to weld some of the fittings to the fuel rail? What's up with this? Is this a safety concern or what because the stockers aren't welded in, why would I have a problem with aftermarket fittings? The girlfriend is getting ready to order the AFPR today and it'd be nice to know before she orders it this afternoon. BTW, if anyone has any other suggestions, please chime in.

Thanks for the help,
Brett

You can buy a AFPR that is built with the fitting to the fuel rail on it. You can buy fuel fitting that are made already also.

I know, www.diamondstarmotorsport.com 's price is $190 for the billet fuel rail with fittings already installed. I don't know that I want to go that route. If it's going to be that much I'll just weld them on the stock rail, I just can't get a straight answer out of anyone on why, or if I have to.

I am considering Full Throttle's AFPR, which is the one that doesn't require fittings.

And one more question, this Full Throttle bolt-on AFPR doesn't have the port for the fuel pressure gauge. Is it advisable to mount one atop the fuel filter? I know the reading isn't as accurate as it could be if it were on the end of the rail but, is that enough difference to be worried about?

the reason it tells you to weld the fitting onto the fuel rail is beacuse the the stock FPR slids in and it bolted into place. i have seen the ends of the fuel rail taped for the threading of the AN fittings and then a fuel safe thread lock was used (i think loctite makes one). i have my FP guage mounted on the top of the fuel filter. it seems to read fine... the needle bounces about 2 psi when the car is idleing. so i just set it to where it is bouncing around where i need it to.

Let me know how easy that fuel guage pops off, Spy. tongue.gif I prolly broke from tightening it down with some David Banner force.

Mine had a spot on the regulator for a guage to screw in.

You lack the genetic abilty for the David Banner force.

How would you know? You've yet to piss me off FATTY!!! Of course, you were the one that almost beat up our waitress and Hulked out of your jeans. Maybe I should watch my mouth.... I love you, Dan.

Brett, even if the regulator doesn't have a guage slot, you can install a solid brass T fitting on the outlet and tap your guage onto that. Nothing to it.

Sounds good to me. You say the said regulator already has a malfunctioning gauge in it? I was thinking of buying an Autometer FP gauge (the manual type that goes atop the filter) anyway. Danimo, the ball is in your court buddy. Thanks for the help everybody!

Full Throttle is currently out of stock of their DSM regulator but when I called them this afternoon they said they should be back in stock within about two weeks. He said they are making 200 of them for their next stock. DSMparts however, has a couple in stock for $150+ shipping.
