OK, I have a logging solution now and can plot 2 properties at the same time. If I'm really searching for knock I record Ignition Timing Advance vs. what, Engine RPM? Air Flow Rate from MAF?

Anyone?

I have O2 voltage but no injector duty cycle reading as an available parameter ...

I am guessing that you do not have knock volts from the knock sensor?

If you were looking at timing and fuel I would think that you would be looking for timing retard and the addition of fuel. Ign Timing Advance might get you the timing variance but do you have some sort of fuel trim that you can log?

"Long Term Fuel Trim-BX (up to 2) – indicates the correction being used by the fuel control system in both open and closed loop modes of operation."

"Short Term Fuel Trim-BX (up to 2) – indicates the correction being used by the closed loop fuel algorithm. If the fuel system is open loop, 0% correction should be reported."

... there are some fuel rail pressure readings as well ...

And no direct read of knock, no, this is all through the OBDII port ...

Seems that if you were knocking then you would see an increase in the Short Term trim in an attempt to control the knock.

On an OBDII vehicle you do timing VS RPM. The timing should drop as boost comes on. Then rise up with RPM. If you use an AFC type device there should be more timing as you lean it out unless there is knock. If you take away airflow and there is less timing, then you are knocking. If your timing drops or stays contant you are probably knocking.

First impression is the timing drops when I drop the hammer but then starts to rise again ...

I'll review it more closely though.
