Looks like they are moving to a 6speed auto. I don't know if I like that.

Not sure it's a true auto... it said "clutchless" with the paddle shifters. Could just be a fancy way of saying auto.... laugh.gif

We've seen Mitsubishi's Concept-X, giving us a very good indication as to what the future Lancer-based Evo X will look like. But here are the first pictures of an Evo X mule running at speed at the Nuerburgring inGermany.

The new Evo X will share a platform with the new Dodge Caliber, Mitsubishi's Outlander and Chrysler's next-generation PT Cruiser.

With over 300 horsepower, the Evo X will be powered by a four-cylinder turbocharged MIVEC 2.0-liter engine, mated to a six-speed clutchless transmission. Other features include steering-wheel paddle-shift controls, and an improved AWD system.

That doesn't look anything like the X concept to me. I can't say I'm thrilled about all the other cars sharing the same platform either. Seems like a step in the wrong direction.

If they call this 10 everyone's going to be disappointed. I've heard the auto-shift-paddles piece before.

I'm looking for a more dramatic appearance shift for the 10 than this. My thoughts of trading in for a X would disappear if this is what came out methinks ... *LOL*

If memory serves, the Evo has had the same generation (i.e. Evo I, II, etc.) shared for a couple of years, especially the Evo 6. That could be what the '08 looks like, it will just be another year using the 9th generation platform.

Miami is right, the Evo X concept looked entirely different than that car.
