Ok today i removed the emissions box and lines. Plugged off the throttle body spots, and crossed the egr together. Now my car is idling at 1500, although it is running fine otherwise. WHat would cause this?

Put a block off plate on where the EGR valve is. And adjust the idle down to stock.

Thanks, Bud!

this might sound stupid but somewhere I read that on 2gs you have to do some certain stuff in order to block the egr vavle. Is this true? If not, ive got a bunch of them in the garage out of stainless steel I made at work.

Unplugging the EGR valve on the 2G's causes a CEL. You can still block it off and leave the EGR plugged in or simulate the impedence of the valve with a resistor.

Just unbolt the EGR and slide the blockoff plate between the EGR and the intake manifold. Just leave the EGR hooked up when you reconnect it and you should be fine.

So on the 2g once everything is removed, following the taboo site, just leave the EGR plugged in after putting the block off plate on, and this will keep from throwing the CEL? I have been thinking about doing this for along time and never have just because I hate seeing that light.

Correct. The setup will be identical to stock except for the plate between the EGR and manifold.

I had a block off plate on the 2g and no CELs with the sensor plugged. Give it a go!
