Time for an update....the engine is finally complete and ready to go back in the car!!!

Looks nice! I can't say that I approve of the FRAM oil filter but to each his own. I'll be itching for a duel here soon so hurry up!

I'll do my best to be ready by then. Ultimately my goal was to have it complete by late May but I'm sure it'll be before then.

I'm not opposed to good old fashioned competition...cost me more money in the long run but makes me gets thing done on the car.
Isn't Goat's red rocket under constuction again? Goat, what the release date on the new and improved car? Maybe we can set up a battle of the 14b's sometime!

Tomorrow should be the day!! Fire in the hole!!!
All I got left is the UICP and look for a small antifreeze leak to chase down. I did partially strip out the top trans mount bolt holes.  Bolts seemed to tighten OK after chasing the threads.

Keep an eye on it, but it if it tightened up, you should be ok. Glad to hear you'll be back on the road soon!

She's complete and running!!!!
Pulled a couple of boners, forgot to screw in the turbo water feed and forgot to tighten the alternator tensioner. Got a small oil leak from the turbo oil feed and I have to make another stainless gasket for the external wastegate blockoff plate to fix a leak there. Pulls strong to 7K now, the ported manifold and fully ported turbo really helped here!! Shifts great now with the rebuilt trans (thanks Darryl!)    Plate for my gages. Still need to add a oil temp gauge.

Few observations after driving the car for a couple of days.
1-The combination of balance shaft removal and window-welding the engine mounts isn't that bad vibration wise. I only really feel it around idle. It's either that or my engine just idles rough. 2-Even after replacing all the seals, DSM still leak! 3-Make sure to tighten the AC tensioner pulley nut after adjusting the belt tension. Otherwise it falls off and the pulley burns itself through your virgin timing cover!
