Ok, im just curious as to what luck you guys have had with rebuild kits. Could some of you guys let me know where you got your rebuild kits and the quality. Also wondering if I should go with a .020 over or .040 over bore.

I had good luck with the topline kit from machv, but if money was not an issue, I'd definately go mitsu. Only the machine shop will be able to tell you what over bore (if any) you will need. Go as little as possible.

It's on the links page...
The bigger bore will give you more displacement, but it makes the cylinder walls thinner, which can lead to overheating problems. Buschur won't use anything over .020 in his higher race motors. If it needed it, i'd go .040 over, but I wouldn't expect it to hold 800hp or anything. -------------------- The fastest car I own is a minivan....

Generally speaking, the bigger the bore the more cubic inches, the more HP. The little bit you'll gain in HP by the overbore can be had by turning up the boost a little. But if you bore it .040 over and you damage something, the block will be junk because you can't bore it anymore.

Agreed. Overboring isn't nearly as effective on 4 cylinder cars for hp production as it is on v8's. Mainly just because we have half the number of cylinders to bore. I'd only get it bored if the cylinder walls are worn and a machinist recommends it. Otherwise just rebuild it and get your hp through tuning.

Call them up. They seemed pretty helpful when I talked to them. They should be able to set you up.
