Yes, the base timing is adjusted via the CAS.  I used to turn up the boost to a level that I thought was reasonable, then use the CAS and AFC to tune it from the base point.  On race gas, it usually liked about a 6 deg bump on the base timing and -15 to 18% on the fuel side.

When I mean bump up the timing I mean by a more finite method such as an AEM EMS or by burning custom maps in an EPROM. I wouldn't suggest cranking up the timing by the Cam angle sensor. I have done it and it does help, but it also burns up pistons and valves in the blink of an eye. wink.gif

rx7- 1 200lb passenger, and -50hp from exhaust being non open, on a slick.

Twitch, full tank of gas, 27psi, excellent launch.

Hole shot, twitch ahead by 2 cars. End of quarter (120-125mph) Twitch held the lead with one full car ahead.

Rx7's launch... Not a 1.6, but didnt fry them either.. Decent.

Seat of the pants, guestimation... 11.50-12.0 run.

Ya got me today, but I'll be back smile.gif
