Thanks everyone for the info on the boost leak....'twas turbo seals and a 16g swap is under way....Now, I was wondering if it is worth it to try and convert the vehicle to eq length 1/2 shafts or if I should just start looking for a awd. I gotta admit, I like the fact I can get the jump on some of the awd guys with the gearing of the fwd, but I am looking to go into the mid 12's eventually.....Any suggestions?

Mid 12's can be fairly easily done with a fwd. Obviously traction will be your biggest limiter. Do all you can to help her stick.

the running start pull benefit, gas mileage, and burnout show off ability are great benefits of a FWD... however the ability to get traction is what draws DSMers toward AWD....

from what I understand... the benefits of equal length half shafts, which BTW aren't hard to swap into a FWD, is the limit of "one wheel wonder" or "one tire fire" effect and also the torque steer... someone correct me if I am wrong.

but with those two effects under control... the different gearing and the roll start advantages can really play havoc of us AWD guys
