since cii is obviously not coming back, james(moodybluesr) created a site specifically for the Central Illinois Region autocrossers. he just created it recently, so there isnt much of anything on it yet, but the forums are setup and the url was posted at the autox this weekend.
so hopefully it will pick up the slack that cii left. schedule of remaining autocrosses should be posted very soon

What is the value in starting a new site? There are sub-forums on CentralStreetScene and CIAutoforum already dedicated to AutoX.

Some people can't get on CSS... hell, I tried to simply update my e-mail and I can no longer post on there. Never sent me the confirmation e-mail. I'm all for new sites.

Same here!!! I tried to register on CSS and I didn't get anything in my mail box or bulk mail. I even sent an email to an admin. and no response.

New sites are good for the community! biggthumpup.gif

eh, 50 small boards are not good for the community, one LARGE one is......I don't see DSM CEntral, CSS, the Ci autox one, ever doing that.

too many sites = too much time spent browsing so you have less frequent visitors

Say what you want, but DSMCentral was the first in the area, and we're still kicking. Something to be said for that.

Agreed...I barely have time for the few I frequent now.

I rather see an AutoX section added here. I wouldn't mind reading more about it, I'm hoping to hit one of the SCCA events at Cordova sometime. Seems like every time there been an event there, my cars back up on blocks.

I think that has a lot to do with the core group remaining intact, in touch and active.

and being able to work out our differences. biggthumpup.gif

i dont think the purpose here is to totally fill the void left from the demise of cii.. it is more so that we have a dedicated place to post about autocrosses. if you have no interest in autocross, then dont go there

The buzz was about finding something to replace CII, yes, but to also be a big larger in scope and size ... as I said, someday it'll happen ...
