I think I've got a bad sync cable, curious if anyone has had a similar experience.

This happens with both a Nate's Pocketlogger cable and my new one, on both the Talon and the red Laser. Batteries were replaced recently.

Data is jacked... at idle or even in the off position, I was getting rpm readings of 500-7000. In test mode I would either get a serial com or ecu com error, or there would be 6 codes to pull.

Any ideas?

I had a Palm data port get screwed up. It would sync OK with the computer but will not connect at all to the car ecu.

I used the same cable with another Palm I have, and have no problems. So the Palm itself may have some issues.

I've had a sync cable fail on me before. You can usually pick 'em up pretty cheap off ebay.

If you get bad data on your new cable and Nate's...that would lead me to believe it's the Palm, not the cable.

but this is using the same sync cable... maybe I'll try using my cradle and see if that works.

Cradle yeilded same problems... I'll try re-loading MMCD and give it another shot... otherwise it's probably time for a new palm... sad.gif
