good news gentlemen... with project: Mutant GSX about wrapped up, I picked up my new whip. I have had Front engine RWD, Front engine FWD and with the GSX front engine AWD.... so when I found my '86 Pontiac Fiero GT, I decided it was time to try Mid engine RWD.... and named it accordingly - project: Fiero Fiasco.

it is a '86 Pontiac Fiero GT fastback, 2.8l V-6, mid engine RWD, 2 seater sportscar. Red with greyish interior.
fortunately it was one of those, "if you come and get it, it's yours" kind of things.... however when you pick up a free car, everyone knows what you get.

the paint is destroyed, the interior is in pieces, the engine doesn't run, the tires don't hold air and are all dry rotted more than spy's penis.
good thing is that I have 2 hoods, 2 decklids, 2 spoilers (one might find it's way on the Mutant), 4 headlights, and just about 2 of everything for the interior... except for the fact that it has no seats....

It is also an auto so that might just have to go for a 5 speed and I am thinking of swaping the stock 2.8L for a supercharged 3.4L or 3.8L

good thing is that I work for the Pontiac dealer, so those hard to find parts might not be as hard to find at not so much of a hard to pay price.

and just for those who might be thinking that the Mutant will be leaving my stable.... not so!!!! (at least yet)

pics to follow, but I promise not to tie up the boards too much with this... just thought I would share the news.

Ben

supercharged 3800 would be crazy but i'd keep it as an auto. hell even just a plain jane bolt on 3800 would be cool.

I have thought about that too.... but I am leaning towards V-6 either 3.4 or 3.8 and supercharged

well all, looks like project: Fiero Fiasco is coming to a screeching halt....

found out that my rear frame rails (like most other Fiero's) are all rotted out... don't have the patience or the time or the money to fix that, so it is leaving the stable earlier than expected...

good news is that I found a 2G GSX roller with trans and drive train, minus engine up here that I am trying to trade the Fiero (and a few other things that I have for sale) for... if not a friend in Pekin is going to drag it down to his place and I might just cash pay for the 2G roller... who knows???
