Hey guys, well I finally got my car back from the shop that did my swap and it is running like crap. I am so pissed at them and myself most of all for being stupid enough to take my car to Advanced Automotive Center. They don't know how to work on imports. It would of been easier on myself if they would of told me before I let them screw my car up, that they didn't know much about imports. But anyways, The car sounds and feels like something is restricted in the exhaust mainly towards the turbo and it echos like crazy. I stumples and hesitates alot when accelerating, feels like it isn't timed correctly and possiblly the EGR solenoid. and oh yeah, they screwed up my power steering pump, it is working on and off. It sucks really bad to pay for a job that isn't even close to being a done job right. I don't want to take my car back there ever again! i need some help! Any advice would be great. I would love it if someone could give me a hand fixing my car. I am pretty much broke due to doing the crap engine swap job, but I will pay what I have for some help...

It's hard saying what they did and didn't do. The Power steering may be ab easy fix though. Check your PS resevior. They may have left some air pockets in the system if they took the lines apart durring the swap. Simple fix if the pump hasn't been run dry.

I take it they don't warenty their work? I'd take it back and raise hell.

If your insistent not to back it back and have them make it right, I'd start with the basics. Check the base timing and do a boost check and go from there.

Definately don't pay full price for thier work if you're not satisfied. Being a business they need to make it right. With that said, it's hard to tell what they really messed up and what was already messed up or on it's way out before they even saw it.

I'd be willing to help out, but I'd charge and it'd have to be on my schedule. I know that sounds bad, but I've got a lot of irons in the fire right now. biggthumpup.gif

I've had the same thing happen. Word of advice: check the balance shaft synchronization. They ALWAYS miss the shaft on the back of the oil pump pully. That's your exhaust "restriction" you hear. I remember it clearly.

Something else to consider doing:

Before paying the bill, get it done right. Even if that requires them having someone else coming in to do it right. If they don't want their word of mouth business to change, they'll do something to try to fix it.

After paying the bill, file a complaint with the better business bereau.

Is this the place in Sunnyland that has a C4 vette in the front STILL with no motor? It's been there for 2 years now

Yeah, they checked the ps resevoir and they bled the system. when they brought it up to me they opened the hood and fluid started to come out of the ps resevoir. Like I said, it is on and off, and they don't know what they are doing...

i have raised alot of hell for the crap job that they did and I am not letting this go. I was right back at the place after 1 minute of being on the road. I am bring it back to them tomorrow maybe, because this is my only car and I can't be with out it. I am just gonna tell them that I don't trust them to keep my car anymore and that they did a crap job at it. Maybe that would get them to pull their heads out of their butts and do the job correctly.

Yes i understand you very much i was over the road working for a few months and took mine to a shop to have fuel and turbo systems put on and they had no clue what they were doing. but told me they did. All i could do was say i am not paying it till its done right 1 and half months later i got my car and still had nothing done.

ohmy.gif doesn't it make you just want to cry in frustration! I just got done talking to the owner and he said that he would fix it in a day. We'll see about that...I am not letting up till it is done right. I can do the job, but all of my tools are at ICC and I need them there for my engine I am rebuilding.

Iron Goat: would I be alright to drive the car until they fix the balance shaft pulley that the timing belt is not attached to? Would I damage anything...cuz I am driving it until they make an appointment.
