This weekeend I got a friendly call from one of my neighbors accross the street. She stopped and walked up as I was rev-tunning my open header truck. smile.gif

Then she proceeds to tell me that this is a warning, that if I continue to rev my engines like this up after it gets dark like I have in the past, she is calling the cops. I'm like...uhm...Have you ever said anything to me about this before. (The whole time I can hardly lift my eys up to look at here face cool.gif ) She said yes, but you just must turn a def-ear, beacause she has yelled at me from accross the street on her porch.

OH..Hahaha...yelling at me while my engine is at full roar...OK. Well, I told her that I'm prepairing the truck to sell that day (which did happen--YEAH!) so she wouldn't have to worry about it anymore.

That's when I seen why she really came over. Her eyes shifted and stabbed the Talon and she said but you still have that thing! and I don't know if you think it's a race car or something, and why you have to continually rev it up like you think your fixing it or something... HHAHAHAHA. I was just like WTF?!?! So I said I'm not an unreasonable person and she can come talk to me about it anytime. She was Hell bent and had both barrels loaded...She wanted no part of that. She just stormed off as she told me I am unreasonable for doing it in the first place.

WOW! blink.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif rolleyes.gif I didn't even waste my breath on the race car comment. It was obviously a jab her and/or her husband had been waiting to lay on me for some time!

I know Natedogg and a few others have been nailed by their loving neighbors for noise, but this was actually the first time I had a neighbor personally confront me about it. If it were a guy, it would be totally different, but with most women, their mammary glands sticking out and the general ignorance about such things just leaves me speachless. ph34r.gif

Check the noise law for where you live. I beleive there's a time period during the day where loud noise is "acceptable". Then shove it down her throat next time she complains!

Does she realize she lives in WASHBURN?!?!?!?! Why would someone chose to live in a corn field if not to rev loudly?

Marcus, I'd be glad to help you AWD guys with your little neighbor problem.

I'll just brew her my own little warning. It's called a smoke screen in her driveway!!!! A couple solid minutes of suffocating smoke and piles of burnt rubber in her driveway will learn her. You don't eFFF with the Godfather!

In fact, better idea, DSMCentral meet at Marcus' house. We'll all drive by in the street honking our horns and revving our engines. We'll show her just how worse we can make it for her.

And if she complains we'll just say, "we yelled across the street to let you know we were going to do it, but you must not have heard us".

Yeah most towns are like that or very close to that time. Most people just assume that when it gets dark that you have to start being quiet.

In the summer you can work on your car until 9 or so but it the fall and winter you have to be done by 5:30 laugh.gif laugh.gif

I had the cops called on me one day for doing that at my grandparents house. But that was at 8:00 in the morning biggrin.gif

Most noise ordinaces are like that, but remember they can still get you for distubing the peace if it's really obnoxious.

Metamora's even got an ordinace against barking dogs, at any time of the day!

Mine is running just fine, thank you very much!

Marcus, this reminds me of the time the cop drove by while we were driving back to your house in the rally-x beater. The engine died right as we were driving past him which killed the headlights making it look like I was flashing my lights at him. Then he stops by your house and gives us an earful for all the noise we were making with that gal-durned car.

Course, like you said there was the time we were out tuning and my neighbors ratted me out and ended up with a noise violation citation. rolleyes.gif
