Hey guys whats up? Ok heres what is going on, Nathan helped me tune the car well he did it and i watched but now i am over heating. i think it might be timing. because it is spiking on the logger around 38* timing i put a new T stat in and it helped bring in back down to 247 when it was going up to 265. Any Ideas?? sorry for the hap-hazard.

Thanks Guys

247* is near catastrophic meltdown. Do a compression test, see if the headgasket is gone.

At part throttle cruise your timing should be 35-45 degrees. Part throttle acceleration should be 10-25 degrees. 38 is pretty normal when you get out of it. Like they said, check the head gasket. Your timing is still what I would call extremely safe for your boost level.

The driver side fan only turns on with the AC. If your other fan is turning on you're golden as far as fans go.

Make sure you do a compression test first. You don't want to jump into a headgasket job and then it not be your problem.

i was having overheating issues and it was a tiny pinhole leak on my heater hose.. make sure you go over your hoses...
also you can wire up the ac fan to run at the same time as the other without the ac on. a good idea if you plan on doing any track time

Ok guys i have looked, there is not a coolant leak. No where, i park the car in my garage on a tarp its been sitting there for the last few days and nothing would drip from it.....

Ok so what do i look for next. The radiator cap the rubber on it has allot of cracks and tears on the seal part. Could that do it. If so why did it just start doing this after tuning. it would not just tear from better tuning would it.

None of this happened till we started doing the timing on the car. Why would messing with the timing and the fuel cause it to do this? and how could i fix it ??????

All Ideas r welcomed

Thank You
Brien

I would imagine if your cooling system is losing pressure through the cap that could be causing it. I would get a new one and see if that takes care of it. They are only a few bucks if i remember right, so no harm no foul.

Free if you know somebody with a compression gauge. If not you can pick one up at Autozone for about $20.00.
