Hey guys whats up? Ok heres what is going on, Nathan helped me tune the car well he did it and i watched but now i am over heating. i think it might be timing. because it is spiking on the logger around 38* timing i put a new T stat in and it helped bring in back down to 247 when it was going up to 265. Any Ideas?? sorry for the hap-hazard.

Thanks Guys

Check the oil again to make sure it's not milky.

By running it while it's in this overheating state, if it is a headgasket you're taking a chance of ruining the engine. If there's coolant in the crankcase, it'll ruin your bottom end letting it run like that.

BEST THING TO DO is change the oil and do a compression test. I'm sure the new owner is going to want to know the results of a compression test if they buy it.

Is the water pump moving water??

Take the rad cap off and see if water is flowing through the system, if not pump could be toast and only is moving water at higher rpms.

This may be obvious but if you perform black92_tsi_awd's suggestion make sure you do so on a cold engine or you could end up with some burns and a mess.

Definitely sounds like a blown headgasket but do a compression test to be sure. The coolant shouldn't bubble out. It should flow through the t-stat housing. Bubbling out makes me almost positive that you are losing combustion pressure into the water jacket through a blown headgasket.
