Got a very kick-a$$ gift from the in-laws tonight for Christmas. It's a little bitty 120v unit, but I'm sure this will help keep any minor welding issues from holding me up anymore.

Make sure to run gas!

That looks like a gas/gasless unit, Ive welded with them before and going the gasless route procudes some poopy welds, but its possible it was just my skill (or lack thereof)

I agree. 120v welder's are very finike. Light rust, wrong settings, lack of gas and yes even inexperience have all played roles in me running some pretty crappy welds with a 120v mig. It will take some practice and I will check to see if I can run gas.

But it's a cool toy... I mean tool to have around the garage. biggrin.gif

Awsome, your going to love it!! I found that welding is like an addiction, soon enough you'll want a TIG.

I found that it's a good stress releiver...you concentrate so hard trying to weld, you don't think about work, kids, wife etc!
