Dont feel like writing a new message, heres my post from dsmtalk:

Today was a very depressing day....I never thought this day would come, I consider myself a good driver and usually very lucky....

For those that don't know me or my car, I bought the talon with 72,000 miles and I have been modding it since day 1....It had 82,000 miles on it at this point, I just got done breaking in the new clutch....It ran a 12.7 @ 112.5 before the install, weapon of choice is a Ported evoIII with my own special recipe of tuning....I learned everything I know from this car....

Anyways.....I was driving today in my area, when I decided to go around a slower driver before the 2 -lanes merged into 1.....The roads are DANGEROUSLY Icey today (icestorm in the afternoon) and yet I still thought in my mind I could control the car doing a full 2nd gear pull.....

Well, I passed the car and of course immediately lost traction from the icey roads....I started to lose control but I kept countersteering....Unfortunately, the merge came and thats when I just lost it.....

...Talon did a complete 180* turn, flipped into the ditch, and rolled 5 times until I landed upside down in the farm next to the road.....I got out immediately, shaken up but very aware of what happened......Witnesses say it was straight out of a movie, the accident was just UNREAL....

Pics do not do justice:

Aftermath at the lot:
-

^^^ By this pic I had already gutted all the expensive items from the car.....I took the aem wideband/radar/headunit/shift knob and everything else I could get my cold, shattered glass filled hands on....

Roof caved in completely, Im surprised I walked away as well as I did....The police/fire department are even more surprised....I actually climbed out right away and walked to my friends who thought I was dead for sure....Shaken up of course, but left with nothing more than cuts from the glass, a small foot injury and well.....A near $10,000 investment laying in ruin...

REST IN PIECES.....

-Josh

Jesus, glad to hear you're in good shape after that.

That's the third story I've heard about people rolling a 1G. All got out and walked away. Makes me feel a little safer in mine....if you know what I mean.

You mentioned that you have been lucky when driving in the past. I would say that your luck continued even though the outcome is what it is. I noticed that the wheels look like they are packed with dirt from the numerous rolls. wacko.gif Glad to hear that you made it out in one piece and good luck on your next project!

Thanks guys..

The plan of attack is to get the insurance money for it, and then buy it back as a salvage parts vehicle for dirt cheap...

I'll use the bolt ons, motor and trans for the new shell hopefully...If I find one (?)

Oh boy....This is gonna be tough....Very upsetting day...

Dude that sucks, and I know that story all to well. About four years ago I wrecked my very good condition 92 6/4 GSX. I went around a corner too fast and the car came around on me. The last thing I rember before I hit the ditch was looking over my sholder at the ditch comming at my right rear quarter pannel thinking to my self, "F**k this is going to hurt. I rolled 6 times with only my chest belt on. I was shaken enough that it took me a few minuets to get out of the car. I didn't belive what had just happend so I had to walk around the car a few times to take it in. I was about a mile away from my house so I started walking. The next morning I called TurboHcar and told him that he wasn't going to belive what happend. Having just wrecked his GS-T a few days earlier, I heard his jaw hit the floor over the phone in shock. We had both wrecked our prize possesions in less than 72 hours. When I went out the next day to take a look at the car in the daylight, I couldn't belive I lived through this wreck let alone walked away with a couple of light cuts to my knuckles from the winsheld, and a bruse on each shin from hitting the bottom of the dash while being tossed around the car.

Sad sad news, I feel for you.

Thanks...Yeah its pretty depressing....I was going to be swapping suspensions with jvb6806 the next day also....

Once again, keep your eyes out for a clean 1g awd shell and this way the blue beast can live on....All my supporting mods/tuning/motor will be swapped.....

Crazy story Mitsu77, my impression of 1g's rolling is that the cars do take a harsh beating, but the ability for us to both walk away with such minor injuries if anything at all is very impressive....

do you still want my shell? $500 w/ suspension and 4bolt rear. no rust or faded clear but needs paint on the bumper and i would throw a CF hood on it because the hood latch is messed up... i ended up running pins through a stock hood.

glad you are ok, and sorry to hear about the car. if you want to come out and take a look at my shell give me a call.

I will consider it bro, Im not the biggest fan of 1gb lasers tho....Car also has pretty high mileage on the body if I remember....

We'll see what it comes down to...Thats a pretty fair price for the car, considering my other potential buys for shells lately have been well over $1000 or the car is plain junk
