I am in a bind here! I got 1990 engine in a 1999 gsx and of course I have a 1990 throttle body and of course I have to have the 1990 TP sensor too. Can anybody help me on the 1990 TP sensor wires to a 2g wires? I cannot use the 2g TP sensor cuz it wont fit and I dont want to go another route of buying a whole new throttle body (91-94). If someone has done thing or is a genius with this, I would greatly appreciate it if you help me out.

I think that my TB was from a 91 but I just switched the TPS. Took out those couple of gold looking screws, swapped it, and then recalibrated the sensor. Maybe the 90 TB is different...

Yes a 90 TB is different than all others.

All I need is what wire is what from the 90 tps. I have the throttle stop grounded and from the scan tool it says that the tps is at 100% wot and it is idleing. I know which is which from the 99 cuz I have the wiring diaghram, but I cant find a wiring diaghram from the 90. anybody out there who has a 90 tps and know what the wires are for would be a great help! Or better yet have a chilton/haynes manual, cuz they have the wiring diaghrams in the back.

Honestly, you'd be much better going with a 91-94 TB.

I don't know...the only thing that is keeping me from having it hooked up is the wires, I have already done the entire swap, so I dont think that that makes any sense to me.
If I had not already did the entire swap and screwed up the wires I would be better off to get the 91-94 tb cuz the sensor from the 99 would be compatible with the 91-94 tb. So yes you are correct, but I really dont want to take everything apart and wire the 99 tp sensor back to the wire harness. call me lazy if you must, I am trying to be as simple as possible... merged with previous post This post has been edited by scorp28: Apr 29 2007, 03:52 PM |

Have you figured this out yet?
On a side note, if you still have the TPS off of your 99 and are willing to part with it send me a PM with a price. I might be interested in it. -------------------- Brian J
